Slowly but surely, says Smith, chivalry ismaking a comeback.

Ordinary people arebeginning to see that chivalry contributes to healthy relationships, says Smith. A study of morethan 10,000 young people carried out by the University of Michigan found that the No 1attribute that both young men and women seek in a mate is not money or beauty orintelligence, but kindness, which lies at the heart of the chivalrous act.
