The Hobbit Begins a New Journey.

　　继获巨大成功的“魔戒三部曲”结束了近10年后，奥斯卡获奖者新西兰导演彼得·杰克逊又将推出另一三部曲系列电影《霍比特人》。下面，小编就来介绍一下《霍比特人》这部电影。

　　The Hobbit is branded as the prequel (前传) trilogy to The Lord of the Rings—a series that made more than $2.9 billion worldwide, completed with an Oscar for Best Picture in 2003 with The Return of the King. The upcoming series opener, An Unexpected Journey, will be followed by two movies scheduled to hit the big screen in 2013 and 2014respectively (分别地). The three movies tell a continuous story set in Middle-earth 60 years bore The Lord of the Rings.

　　《霍比特人》被称为是“魔戒三部曲”的前传。这三部曲获全球29亿票房，并于2003年以《王者归来》获奥斯卡最佳影片奖。即将到来的系列电影的首部电影《霍比特人：意外之旅》后将会有两部电影，分别在2013年和2014年上映。三部电影讲述的是一个连续的故事，发生在指环王前的中土60年。

　　The story of An Unexpected Journey centers around the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, who is well known as Dr. Watson in the BBC’s Sherlock. The curious Hobbit is caught up in an adventurous journey to the Lonely Mountain, along with avigorous (精力充沛的) group of Hobbits, to get back a treasure stolen from them. Characters including the wizard Gandalf, Hobbit Frodo and the scary creature Gollum will serve as important supporting roles in the movie.

　　“意外之旅”的故事以马丁·弗里曼扮演的霍比特人比尔博·巴金斯为中心，弗里曼以在BBC剧夏洛克中的医生华生而闻名。好奇的比尔博加入了一群精力充沛的霍比特人团队，陷入了一个去孤山的冒险之旅，去找回被盗的宝藏。巫师甘道夫，哈比人佛罗多和可怕的怪物咕噜姆等将角色作为电影的重要配角。

　　But its link to The Lord of the Rings only partially explains why An Unexpected Journey is among the most anticipated movies of the year. Its being based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s (托尔金) another enduringly popular masterpiece, The Hobbit, has also fueled fans’ enthusiasm.

　　The Hobbit is a fantasy novel and children’s book published in 1937 to wide criticalacclaim (评论界的赞誉). In fact, The Lord of the Rings came into being after the publisher of The Hobbit requested a sequel (续作), encouraged by the book’s critical and financial success. The Hobbit, whose central themes are personal growth and forms of heroism, remains popular and is recognized as a classic in children’s literature. It has sold 100 million copies and been translated into some fifty languages.
