　　有题的答案里面有despite having his Ving……，though having……，in spite of his Ving of， in spite of his 动作性名词 of。

　　前面是Having……，Scientists(不确定，反正是个人还是个物)have V.ed xxx。是考时态的一个。

　　部分倒装: 把谓语动词的一部分移至主语的前面.

　　全部倒装: 把整个谓语动词置于主语之前.

　　※单个的be动词只用全部倒装,但如果把表语,宾语,状语或宾语补足语等提到主语之前,则被称作前置.

　　一、全部倒装。

　　1.here, there, away, down, in, up, off, out, now, then, next, thus 等副词开头的句子里,谓语动词只有一个,主语不是代词。

　　Now comes your turn.

　　Out rushed the crowd.

　　※如果主语为代词,则主谓语序不变.

　　Here you are.

　　Out they rushed.

　　2. 介词短语作状语放句首。

　　那张桌子下睡着一只棕色的猫。

　　Under that table sleeps a brown cat.

　　North of the city lies a big paper mill.

　　3. 表语置于句首表强调,倒装结构为:表语+连系动词+主语

　　1)形容词+系动词+主语

　　出席会议的是怀特教授。

　　Present at the meeting was Professor White.

　　2)过去分词+系动词+主语

　　Gone are the days when they could do what they like to the Chinese people.

　　3)介词短语+be+主语

　　Among the presents are flowers, candles and toys.

　　4. 用于so, nor, neither, 开头的句子,表示重复前句的部分内容; 原句的谓语应于前句谓语的时态,形式相一致.

　　I like music ;so does my sister.

　　I don’t like music; neither/nor does my sister.

　　※当句子中既有否定又有肯定; 或有多个形式不一的谓语时,应用:

　　So it is with sb. / It is the same with sb.

　　※ as 有时也可有这种用法,相当于so,表明前面的情况也可同样适用于后者.

　　A better understanding of the environment is

　　necessary, as is the willingness to act.

　　哈里也象他的兄弟们一样,身材奇高.

　　Harry is unusually tall, as are his brothers.

　　5. 直接引语的全部或一部分置于句首时

　　“ Help!” shouted the boy.

　　“ Exactly,” said my father, shaking the old man’s hand.

　　※主语为代词时不倒装.

　　“Let’s go” he said.

　　6. 为了保证句子平衡,或为了强调表语或状语, 或为了使上下文紧密衔接时.

　　They arrived at a farm house, in front of which sat a small boy.

　　Inside the Pyramids are the burial rooms for the kings

　　and queens and long passages to these rooms.

　　二、部分倒装

　　1. 用于疑问句.

　　2. 在虚拟语气中,条件句中若有were, had或should, 可将if省去,将were/should/had 提到句首引起倒装.

　　If I were not in this position, I would do whatever I’d like to.

　　Were I not in this position, ….

　　3. 用于adj/n/v + as/though 引导的让步状语从句中.

　　Clever as he is, he doesn’t work hard.

　　Hero as he is , he keeps modesty.

　　Much as he likes her, he can’t marry her.

　　※在这种倒装句中,主谓语序不变.名词前不用任何冠词.

　　4. 在so/such…that (如此…以至)句型中,

　　若so/such…置于句首,

　　So difficult was the exam that more than a half of the students failed.

　　He drove so careless that he almost killed himself.So careless did he drive that he almost….

　　5. Only +状语位于句首时.

　　Only in this way can you hope to make progress in English.

　　一个人离开了家,才知道家是多么的好

　　Only when one is away from home does one realize

　　how nice home is.

　　Only him the teacher praised.

　　※only +主语/宾语时不倒装

　　6. hardly…when; no sooner… than; not until, not only, never, not, no longer, little, seldom, scarcely, barely, in no time, nowhere , by no means, in no case, 等否定副词和连词位于句首时。

　　我们刚到家就开始下雨.

　　Hardly ___________________ when it began to rain.

　　No sooner __________________ than it began...

　　直到我开始学习,我才意识到我浪费了多少时间.

　　Not until I began to study did I realize how much

　　time I had wasted.

　　Never bore has our country been as united as

　　it is today.
