School Notes

Hyde School campus: Located in quiet, rolling farmland of northeastern Connecticut, the Hyde School campus, part of the Hyde Organization network of private and public character-building and leadership development schools, was founded in 1996. Formerly the site of a former Catholic women college, the 120-acre campus, surrounded by open fields, peacul woodlands, and immaculate grounds, includes spacious buildings, several dorm facilities, an all-inclusive athletic center with basketball courts and weight training and wrestling rooms, two playing fields, including a turf field complex, a Cultural Center that houses a state-of-the-art, 1,100-seat theater, formerly the home of the New England Opera Company, a student center, which houses classrooms, the art center, cafeteria, coffee house, and bookstore.
The campus includes a ropes course with zip line, a 600-acre wilderness facility located in the remote and pristine Bigelow Mountains in Eustis, Maine.
Classrooms include interactive plasma displays, known as Smart Boards.
All students participate in the Hyde School Performing Arts Program, three sports per year, a broad range of college preparatory classes, including AP for select students, and community service.
Visiting parents can be accommodated at the Renewal Center, a beautiful on-campus dormitory and conference center for Family Weekends and family retreats.
All seniors receive one-on-one college placement assistance.
School accreditations: New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc., National Independent School Association of Northern New England.
The campus health center is staffed by registered nurses. Hyde School offers a wide range of summer and holiday programming options.
The quaint towns of Putnam and Woodstock are a 1 hour commute from Boston and a 45-minute commute from Providence and Hartford.
