Transcript of your academic record from every post-secondary institution attended. A description of grading systems used, and full course titles is required.
Please note that official (paper) transcripts are not required at the time of application. An applicant may be admitted to a graduate program on the basis of the scanned transcript, but presentation and verification of the official paper transcript will be a condition that must be met prior to registration.

Curriculum Vitae is required.
Recommendation Letter:
At least two letters of reference (one from an instructor in your major area and one from an instructor familiar with your academic work). Please contact your referees in advance to obtain an e-mail address (preferably a university e-mail address). Be sure to inform your referees that you are doing this and that the University of Toronto, School of Graduate Studies will be contacting them by email.
Other Document:
An extended essay (ca. 3000 words) demonstrating an ability to handle research problems.
Pre-audition video:
Pre-audition video (private link on YouTube). Students registered in the Faculty of Music at the time of application deadline are not required to submit a pre-audition video. Please consult the audition requirements for details regarding this video. Invitations for live auditions will be issued in early January.
Auditions:
There are two parts to the audition:
A pre-audition video is required by the document deadline. (Students registered in the Faculty of Music at the time of application deadline are not required to submit a pre-audition video.)?
Based on the Admission Committee's assessment of the video, applicants may be invited for a live audition and interview. Audition Schedule
Scores of all compositions on the audition program must be provided for the jurors at the live audition.
Accompanists:
An accompanist is required for voice, strings, brass, woodwind performers, piano (chamber music). A list of accompanists is available on request from the Graduate Department of Music. The candidate is responsible for contacting and paying his or her accompanist(s).
