International Students

Tuition fee levels have been determined by the University as below and if you cannot find your course or fee you should contact the Academic or Finance Office who will be able to advise you.

The University requires you to be responsible for the payment of tuition fees. However, you may have arranged for your tuition fees to be paid by a sponsor, for example, a government or other funding body. The University does not recognise private individuals, such as relatives, as formal sponsors with whom the University will deal directly. In order for the University to invoice your sponsor directly you are required to provide a letter from your sponsoring body confirming that they will pay your tuition fees. This letter, together with a completed University Sponsor Form, should be sent to the University. The University will then invoice your sponsoring body directly. If for any reason your sponsoring body fails to pay by the requested date you will become liable for payment of your tuition fees.

The University wishes to encourage full-time self funding students to arrange payment of the full tuition fee in advance of the start of the academic year and offers a £200 discount to those self funding students that do so. This discount is not available for Sponsors. This discount arrangement only applies if your tuition fee liability is £5,000 or above per year. This discount is only available when you pay your fees in full bore completing online registration. This discount will only be available during the online registration dates advised by the Academic Office. When you make a full fee payment, bore you register with the University you should deduct £200 from your total fee bore you make your payment. If your payment is declined or returned then this will result in removal of the discount and full fees will be due.

If you are responsible for paying your tuition fees you can either pay your tuition fees in full, prior to the start of your academic year or in two instalments with the first instalment payable prior to the start of your academic year and the second instalment due towards the beginning of the next term. Exact dates will be confirmed in your fee statement which will be emailed to your University account during your first term. In order to register for your course it is a requirement that at least the first instalment has been paid. If you choose to pay in two instalments and the second instalment is not paid by the due date, this could lead to the suspension of your registration.

If you are studying away from the University for a full year, you will be liable to pay 25% of your appropriate full tuition fee. This includes students on an ERASMUS exchange for the whole year.

Part time international students will pay half of the full time fee for their course each year.

International Student Discounts

Family Discount
If you have (or have had) a sibling, spouse or son/daughter at the University you may be awarded up to 10% reduction, in total as a family, in tuition fees. Details of this scheme and an application form can be obtained from the University's Academic Office.

The scheme requires supporting documentation in the form of birth/marriage certificate(s) to be available. All applications have to be considered and approved by the Academic Office bore the discount can be awarded.

Continuing Studies Discount
If you have already completed a full-time degree programme at the University, and register for another degree programme, you may be eligible for a 10% reduction in tuition fees for the second programme. Details of this scheme and an application form can be obtained from the University’s Academic Office. All applications must be considered and approved by the Academic Office bore the discount can be awarded.

This discount is not available if you already qualify for the family discount rerred to above.

Scholarships
If you are an international student in receipt of a University or departmental scholarship, your tuition fees will be reduced by the relevant amount and payments due adjusted accordingly. If you are then eligible to receive a discount for any reason this will be calculated on the reduced fee.

Please note that scholarship reductions are applicable only for full-time study at the University. Your scholarship will be suspended if you undertake an industrial placement or exchange year, as part of your degree programme.
