A 24-year-old Chinese female graduate student from Qingdao, Shandong province, has been stabbed to death in her apartment building in Tokyo.

　　近日，来自山东青岛的一位女研究生在其位于东京的公寓内被刺死。

　　Jiang Ge, who went to Japan in April last year to study for a master’s degree in one of the most prestigious law schools in Japan, Hosei University, was killed around dawn on Thursday, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

　　据《北京青年报》报道，死者名为江歌，去年四月赶赴日本，在日本颇负盛名的法政大学攻读研究生学位，上周四凌晨在住所内被歹徒刺死。

　　Jiang was stabbed in the throat and body, after a loud argument in the corridor of the apartment building, the report said.

　　据报道，在公寓楼走廊上发生激烈争吵之后，江歌的喉咙和身体被刀刺伤。

　　Jiang’s female flatmate called the police after hearing loud quarrelling in the corridor, and police found Jiang lying in a pool of blood when they arrived. They rushed her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

　　江歌的女性室友在听到走廊上的争吵后报了警，但是当警方赶到现场之后，只发现了倒在血泊中的江歌。随后江歌被紧急送往了医院，后来便不治身亡。

　　Chinese news portal Huanqiu.com reported that a witness saw a man in the corridor at around the time Jiang was attacked.

　　据中国新闻门户网站环球网报道，一名目击者声称在江歌被刺的大致时间有一名男子出现在公寓走廊上。

　　In a Weibo posting by Jiang’s mother, who arrived in Japan on Friday after being informed of the incident by the Japanese Embassy in China, said there were multiple knife wounds on her daughter’s throat and body.

　　日本驻华大使馆将此事通知给了江歌的母亲，后者于上周五抵达了日本，据江歌母亲的一篇微博透露，江歌的喉咙和身体上有多处刀伤。

　　“Only several minutes bore my daughter’s death, she was telling me how she wanted to find a good job and give me a good life,” Jiang’s mother said in another post, “but 18 minutes later, she was dead!”

　　江歌的母亲在另外一篇微博中说道：“就在我女儿去世前几分钟，她还告诉我说她很想找一份好工作、让我过上好日子。但是18分钟之后，她人就没了!”

　　Jiang’s mother begged the Japanese public to provide clues to her daughter’s death.

　　With no police breakthrough in the case at this stage, Jiang’s mother is discussing the handling of her daughter’s body with them, the report said.

　　据报道，由于现阶段警方并没有在这起案件中取得突破进展，江歌的母亲正在和他们商讨处理江歌遗体的事宜。

　　There were more than 138,000 Chinese students studying in Japan in 2011, accounting for 63.5 per cent of the foreign students in the country, according to the website of the Japanese Embassy in China.

　　据日本驻华大使馆网站的数据显示，2011年在日本留学的中国学生数量超过了13万8000人，占到了日本国内海外留学生总数的63.5%。
