　　GMAT考试已于3月1日更换题库，以下是2012年3月的GMAT语法机经更新，更新日期从2012年3月1日起至3月9日，目前共16题。澳际留学祝大家GMAT考试顺利!

　　The use of dependent: should go with dependent on or dependent +none

　　Explain: 考查dependent用法：

　　dependent ：adj. / n. 依赖于，取决于

　　dependent on: determined by conditions or circumstances not yet established

　　dependent upon: being determined by conditions or circumstances that follow

　　“dependent on” & “dependent upon” are used interchangeably in American English.

　　More information:

　　Formal---informal: dependent upon> dependent on> depends upon> depends on

　　“A depends upon B" generally means "A relies on B”

　　“A depends on B" generally means "A is true only if B is true”

　　Explain: 考查that用法：代词、词组：

　　Of that: 意思为“也就说”

　　例句：Of that, roughly $400 billion will be spent by 2020 on the subsidies and about $500 billion on increased spending on Medicaid. (Rerence: 有道词典)PS: 我觉得这个句子必须有上下文of that才能这样使用。

　　that作为代词在句子中的用法：

　　指代对象：(1)person, thing, idea indicated, mentioned, or understood from the situation;(2) time, action, or event specified; (3)the kind or thing specified as follows; (4)one or a group of the indicated kind. (Rerence: Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

　　请注意，that指代的是物品单数或指代整体，those是that的复数指代形式;使用代词时，请根据句意判断是否明确了指代对象，不存在歧义。一般情况下，代词指代最近的名词。

　　Colon verse comma (exam question: …United States, as follow the reasoning or United States: reasoning without as—notice the change from comma to colon).

　　Explain：考查冒号和逗号的用法

　　Colon: a punctuation mark: used chily to direct attention to matter (as a list, explanation, quotation, or amplification) that follows;

　　Comma: (1) a punctuation mark, used especially as a mark of separation within the sentence; (2) pause, interval.

　　Rerence: Merriam-Webster Dictionary

　　考试时请根据句意判断选择colon还是comma。
