微笑着先说:Happy New Year!她先是奇怪一下,也回礼 [b]Happy New Year! [b]Me:(抢先)I feel a little nervous… [b]MM: Take care. Don’t be nervous. Just listen to me and answer my questions. [b]Me: Because it’s my birthday. (Smile) [b]MM: Don’t say that. Let’s go on… Where are you going to study in United [b]States? [b]Me: *** State U, **. My professors recommend it. [b]MM: Hem, you’re going to study Electrical Engineering. So tell me what [b]will make sure you will come back? 其次my goal是成为这方面的专家和教授) [b]Would you like to see my materials (意图主动些)? [b]MM:No. Do think you can be a professor after you get a Master’s degree? [b]Me: I will. [b]MM: what university? [b]Me: *** U. I graduated from this U. Some of my professors run companies. [b]MM: (看了一下I20)Who will pay your study in US? (上面写着Family Funds) [b]Me: Self funding and my sister and brother in law. Would you like to see [b]their materials? [b]MM: No, just listen to my questions. Do they live in America? [b]Me: yes. [b]MM: How did they go to America? [b]Me: They immigrated to America in Nineteen Nineties. Family based immigrant [b]visas. [b]MM: why Family based immigrant visas? [b]Me: My brother in law immigrated to US in 1994 because his family in [b]America. My sister married him in 1995 and she went to US in 1999. [b]MM: (nodding, writing on my forms) only one sister in US? [b]Me: yes. And one sister in China here. My father is a permanent resident on [b]Hong Kong. I have a twin brother. He’s waiting outside this consulate. [b]Would you like to see him? [b]MM: I see. Do you have any change? [b]Me: Yes. (快速第进一个文件夹,有三个英国学校的offer of place)First, this. [b]MM: (翻看了第一个)Very good university. How many university have you apply [b]to? [b]Me: (立刻翻开装成绩的夹子,指着G成绩单)You can see this. [b]MM: (接过看,还读出一所的名字) [b]Me: Second, I have been selected for the new essential technical project of [b]our company. That will be the most advanced *** in Guangdong. Third, I don’ [b]t wanna be a ** Engineer only. I hope to dedicate in communications. China’ [b]s future 3G communication system will combine telecom and cable TV… [b]Me:An advanced degree from US is extremely attractive here. I will have a [b]very promising career future here. This is the first choice. Second choice, [b]as I said my father is a Hong Kong permanent resident, I can go to Hong [b]Kong with him. [b]MM: (had a look at my form) Do you live in Guangzhou? [b]Me: Yes. I work in Guangzhou. Work for **** as an assistant engineer for **. [b]MM: (had a look at my form again) Oh yes. How long have you worked? [b]Me: More than 2 years. I graduated from ** U in year 2000. [b]MM: *&*%^*^ [b]Me: Sorry? [b]Me: (at the same time)You mean salary. (She nodded.) Last year more than [b]*** (a quite decent #). [b]MM: (Nodded again) You…excellent…But…the law…I am sorry I can’t issue [b]a visa…(说完就盖章了)。 [b]Me: (怕她认为我混得还不够好) Please see my personal funds. [b]MM: Oh no. I trust you. But you can’t conform that you will come back…You [b]will go to this university And [b]I think you should have a break. You’ve come here several times. [b]Me: I had a break. Last time in August. Fourth months. 脑子拼命转,立刻说)None of my family members stay in US even [b]though they had nonimmigrant visa. (忙翻出妈妈的护照) Let me show you my [b]mother’s visa. She went to US in 2001 and she came back. [b]MM: I know she came back. But you can’t…please understand that I don’t [b]mean you are telling a lie, and that you are an excellent student. 里头是打印出来的我和一个美国姐姐前年的 [b]emails)Look at this, please. She is the former ***. [b]MM: Oh no. (但当她看到夹在上面的卡片,语气即刻变了,快速说一句) Wait a minute! [b](拿到旁边去) [b]Me: (顿感有机会复生,补了一句) I got to know her in March 2001. [b]MM: (很快回来) I am sorry… [b]Me: (心里很不甘,但已让位给后面的人)Anyway, thank you.
