In China, a country with rapid development, the management of computer information systems very important, which directly affects the decision-making of a company or an enterprise. However, in this respect, China is restrained because the computer development is backward compared with advanced counties. Thereby, computers can’t be ficiently used to manage and make use of information. In terms of management of computer information system, China is behind of the United States. As the increase of professional knowledge and work experience, I realize computer is a vast field in which I have many things to learn. In the United States, computer is No. one in the world. Therore, I hope to study PhD in this field in the US.

　　I received my bachelor degree and master degree in Nanjing University of Science and Technology that is a prestigious computer university. The four years of study as an undergraduate student was very interesting. During this time, I mastered basic knowledge of computer, which supplied a solid foundation for my later study. In those four years, I got scholars many times and my graduate thesis was graded as “Outstanding Graduate Thesis”. With four years of hard work, I was one of the top 7 students in my grade who were recommended for graduate admission at our university. As a graduate student, I worked as a teaching assistant and research assistant many times, besides successfully completing the programs given by my supervisor. To pursue a higher goal, as a student in Management information system, I consciously attempted to improve my professional skills and cultivated my problem-solving abilities. As my university attaches great importance to student practice programs, I have been offered plenty of opportunities to undertake some projects and participate in several internships and field trips over my undergraduate and graduate years. Professor Liu Yufeng, an authority in this field, was my graduate supervisor. With her instruction, I was lucky to participate in the research on Distributed Intrusion Detection System, a key project of Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Dense (CSTIND). The project was aimed at hosting a main detecting program on each of computers in the local area network. The main detection arithmetic was designed to match the executing operation sequence to the legal sequence database of examining malicious attack to single host computer as well as harmonizing and controlling the whole local area network. We use with Linux API to monitor the specified network ports and processes for getting the executing operation sequence and mysql database to store legal sequence and illegal data. Besides, in my graduate study period, I took part in the technology development of ShanXi Province Construction Bank Project Management System, a research program of Nanjing Hoperun Information System Co. Ltd. After this project, Prof. Liu arranged me to participate in Content-based Video retrieval, a research program that was from the WAN real-time numerous information order program cooperated with Nanjing broadcasting television group. The project was aimed at making online alteration and retrieval possible with high qualified video and frequency information and prompting the recycle of TV media information to embody the value of information as much as possible. My task was to instruct research on MPEG-7 standard and extraction calculation of static and dynamic features of video retrieval, and make out a video retrieval system prototype.

　　These experiences have paved a good way for my future study and career, which is good for me to understand and master knowledge on information management system. Through the development of this information system, I learn more knowledge about the application of programming procedure and strengthen my team spirit. Besides, I acquired a lot of professional knowledge of information management system. When I saw my achievements working, which could solve problems for companies, I was greatly inspired to move on in this field.

　　Now, I am working as a Project Manager, in Beijing Municipal Engineering Consulting Corporation (BECC), engage in IT consulting and enterprise information alizarin constructions. Currently I am leading an extremely talented software team to build our company website and OA system.. My work includes customer requirement collection, the design of system architecture and the schedule of project plan. Besides, I also deal with design of database schema, the programming of stored procedure, testing, coding, publication, deployment and maintenance. Based on the scale and requirements of the project, we decide to build the system to B/S architecture using ASP.Net 2.0 and SQL Server 2000, and we divided it into three layers—Web layer, Biz layer and Data Access Layer. In the execution of the project, we applied a great deal of stored procedure. As the proceeding of the project, it was a tough problem to maintain these store procedures. For instance, when the store procedure was newly added or its interface dinition changed, the ADO.Net code had to be changed also. We hoped that we had a tool to deal with these fussy things for us. Thereby, I programmed a small tool that, aimed at each store procedure, automatically produced codes and realized the mapping from ADO.Net to T-SQL stored procedure according to template dinition. With encapsulation, we could simply realize business management of several stored procedures simultaneously in the process of transfer, which greatly improved ficiency and saved time.

　　I am such kind of person who always wants the own life to be perfect. Calling back to my memory of my school life, with the outstanding talent and solid academic background I did quite well in many other fields, such like taking part in pop music community and movie viewer group not only to enrich my rigorous study life but perfect my personality and ability in the school. Finally I accumulated plenty of experiences on leadership, cooperation and sense of responsibility. From these precious academic and working experiences, I not only have the conviction that the world needs more advanced technology but also follow that through with the ambition and daring to undertake high quality, cutting-edge research, research that will undoubtedly make a bountiful contribution both to your school and to my country. My burning ambition is to ensure that, with my assistance, China continues to make steady progress into the advanced world. “Try your best, you are the best.” This is what I always believe. I believe with my extraordinary research capability, wealthy practical experience and deep understanding of enterprise operation, I will be fit for the research work in your university and bring out my ability, which will at last lead me to success.
