　　As an experienced teacher at international economics department of China Renmin University, executive director of International Commercial Diplomacy Program China, I am very pleased to have this opportunity to recommend Miss Sylvia Zhang to your for acceptance into your commercial diplomacy program. As a graduate of Master‘s Program in Commercial Diplomacy myself from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (1998-2000), I am fully aware of the strengths and the potential of Miss Sylvia Zhang in her future program in this area.

　　Miss Sylvia Zhang impressed me deeply when I first met her in my course of world trade system with her outstanding English capabilities in expressing her abstract and complex ideas. My course was delivered in English, which was a headache for most students, but for Zhang it was a source of pleasure, learning exported teaching program in their original language with much ease. Her English ability can be proven by her translation of many cases when working as RA, which I will mention somewhere below. Those translation works can be found in our program website.

　　Strongly motivated by her academic curiosity, she grasps every chance to discuss with me about the issues like WTO system and agreements, global trade disputes, globalization, and other latest hot topics in this field. Through our conversations, I have discovered her to be a youth of excellent analytical ability, which can be demonstrated by one of her term papers An Analysis of the failure of WTO Seattle Meeting. This paper was a rarely good one for an undergraduate, well supported with concrete details and her precise observation and thorough analysis.

　　Her excellent class performance had encouraged me to choose her as RA for ICDP CHINA. During this period, she further demonstrated her merits in many other aspects. In research, she was not only capable but also conscientious, taking laborious forts in consulting and analyzing large amount of materials. She is also an excellent organizer with strong personnel communication and coordination capability, which has been revealed through her successful working as a RA, assigning various tasks and coordinating team members for the completion of a common goal.

　　Commercial diplomacy is a newly established program in China. And talents in this field are in urgent need with China‘s entry of WTO, which has provided great incentives for our program. As a researcher and promoter of this program, I strongly encourage such promising youth as Zhang Chen to further their studies in your esteemed university.
