Assistant Professor Position
Bioinformatics and Cancer Research
The Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina, Columbia invites applications and/or nominations for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Statistics. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct research using bioinformatic modeling, analysis, or computational approaches to address fundamental questions in biological systems including cancer. Candidates will hold a joint appointment in the Department of Biology and will also be expected to collaborate with USC’s Center for Colon Cancer Research, funded through NIH Center for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grants since 2002. The appointment will commence August 2016.
Applicants must have a PhD in the statistical sciences and must show potential to become an outstanding researcher and demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching.
