新SAT官方考试大纲的34至35页，美国大学理事会SAT阅读命题专家，对新SAT阅读的解题策略和技巧，给出了九个方面的建议。我们把这些建议做了汉语翻译，供学生及家长认真参考。

一、 Pace yourself by keeping track of the clock – either on the wall or on a watch that’s on your desk. Each section of the test has its own amount of time, so, when the test administrator says you can turn to each section, glance through a few pages to get a sense of how long you’ll have for each chunk of questions. Check yourself one-quarter, one-half, and three-quarters of the way through the allotted time to make sure you’re still on pace.

依据在考试中的答题时间掌控好答题节奏，每一部分的答题时间都是固定的。每隔一刻钟看一次表，进一步调整答题节奏。

二、 While you need to keep your answer sheet free of stray marks, you’re welcome to mark up the test booklet as much as you want. Annotating your test booklet can, if done judiciously, help you recall important facts or work through challenging problems.

在考试中，考生的答题纸要保持干净，但在试卷里随便考生怎么写都行。如果考生在试卷中的关键部分，能做出合理的标记，这对解决难题是有益的。

三、 Consider skimming the questions in the Reading and the Writing and Language Tests prior to reading each of the passages in order to get a sense of what issues will be important.

在看阅读文章以前，先把文章配套的选择题浏览一遍，从而获得一些重要的信息。

四、 After reading each question, imagine the answer you would come up with. Then read the possible answers to find the one closest to your own.

在解题时，先想出你的答案，紧接着再找出最接近你的答案的那个选项。

五、 Always read all of the answer choices.You don’t want a too-hasty decision to cause you to select the wrong answer to a question.

在解题时要读完所有的选项，没必要过早得出结论，从而选错。

六、 If you read a question that stumps you,don’t dwell on it.Return to the unanswered ones at the end. Make big marks next to questions you decide to skip so you can return to them later.

如果你碰到不会答的选择题，不必停留，接着看下面未答的部分。并在不会答的部分作出明显的标记，如果有时间可回来再答。

七、 Remember that there’s no penalty for guessing (as there used to be on the SAT),so you should answer all questions bore time is up.When you’re not sure of an answer,make an educated guess.Draw lines through each of the answer choices you eliminiate.Remember,too,that there are only four answer choices(instead of the old five),so cutting down the possibilities by even one substantially increases your odds of choosing correctly.

记住新SAT没有倒扣分，如果你不知道选什么，就用排除法一项一项去排除。别空题。

八、 Importand:Be sure to check often to make sure that the number of the question you’re about to answer matches the number in the test booklet.Erase and adjust if needed.

请注意，在填写答题卡时，填写的部分务必要对应好试卷的题号。

九、 You very well may finish some sections bore time runs out.Review,but do so carully.You don’t want to second-guess yourself and change answers just to change them.

每答完一部分，要仔细复查，但不必对你瞎蒙瞎猜的选择，给出新的猜测。
