　　Database - a collection of information in electronic form. Bibliographic Databases are used to find rerences to published research. Many are subject based, and some will give you a summary, or abstract, of the contents of the items being rerred to. More about databases.

　　DOI - Digital Object Identifier: A DOI is a unique identifier for an electronic document, such as a journal article, and is guaranteed never to change even if the URL alters. Our DOI search box can be used to view the options to Get it! (in a new window). A general DOI lookup tool and a DOI resolver can be accessed via MetaLib, which can be used to find the DOI for a journal article you have bibliographic data for and link to a journal article or other digital object by using its DOI respectively.

　　Get it! - 'Get it!' links next to rerences found on MetaLib and other databases give you relevant links to services we provide for that rerence. 　　ISBN - International Standard Book Number: most books published since the mid-1960s have one of these unique identifying numbers. Books are now published with both ISBN-13 (new style) and ISBN-10 (old style) numbers, and the ISBN-13 converter accessible via MetaLib allows you to work out one from the other. Amazon often quotes both for a particular new book and they are usually given on library catalogues (see the Full view of the UOB Library Catalogue).
